I really ...Thanks for your kind words on my blocks. I really need to get back to sewing! (Life gets in the way!)

The original quilt is really something to see in person. No pictures can truly capture what it's like to see it up close, and feel the history behind it, and wonder where Jane got the different fabrics and patterns, or how long it took her to make it. It's really amazing!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07948593936644150069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494445491796614668.post-69502471645302920912010-11-07T22:00:01.910-05:002010-11-07T22:00:01.910-05:00Your blocks are lovely Connie! But I guess the important thing is to keep Jane's quilt safe from excess light so people can enjoy it for many years to come. I have a feeling that block might actually be made with some corners pieced and some not. There are lots of inconsistencies in the quilt like that. Sometimes I think it's the "imperfections" that really make it unique and wonderful to see in person. It is really stunning to see how various sized borders and unmatched seams in places don't take away from its beauty at all!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07948593936644150069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494445491796614668.post-35981700816810912522010-10-10T13:08:21.205-04:002010-10-10T13:08:21.205-04:00I see what you mean about that corner piece. I almost got there last year and then at the last minute, my travel companion had to change her plans. I should have gone anyway. I'm sad to hear they have moved the quilt to a darker room and that you can't get as close. Too bad they cannot offer an option to have special access if with the promise of your firstborn child if you break any of the rules.Minkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01475472888411008059noreply@blogger.com
